Nilperi Şahinkaya (born 23 February 1988) is a Turkish actress known for her versatile performances in television, film, and theater. She gained prominence with her roles in the period drama Öyle Bir Geçer Zaman ki, the romantic comedy Kiraz Mevsimi, and the Netflix spin-off comedy series Erşan Kuneri. Şahinkaya has appeared in various popular television series such as Kayıp, Bu Şehir Arkandan Gelecek, Kuzgun, Yeni Hayat, and Yasak Elma. She has also starred in films including Yahşi Batı, Deli Aşk, Karakomik Filmler, and Ayzek ile Bir Gece. Beyond the screen, she showcased her talent on stage in an adaptation of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and the digital theater play Dijital Sahne: Bir Bebek Evi. Nilperi Şahinkaya was born on 23 February 1988 in Senegal. Her father, Salim Levent Şahinkaya, is a diplomat, which led her to spend her early years in various countries. She completed her primary education in Paris and attended secondary school in Bern. In 2003, after her parents' divorce, she moved with her mother to Ankara. She graduated from Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle in 2006. Between 2006 and 2010, Şahinkaya studied at Bilkent University School of Music and Performing Arts, where she excelled academically and had her name placed in the university's High Hall of Fame.

Career

Nilperi Şahinkaya began her acting career while studying at Bilkent University, making her television debut in the daily series Deniz Yıldızı. In June 2010, she was cast in the period drama Öyle Bir Geçer Zaman ki, portraying the character Mesude, which led her to settle in Istanbul. Following this role, she appeared in the crime series Kayıp, where she played the dual roles of Defne and Sedef. Her breakthrough came with the romantic comedy Kiraz Mevsimi, in which she starred as Şeyma. She further expanded her television career with a leading role in N'olur Ayrılalım as Temmuz Akıncı. Continuing her stage career, Şahinkaya acted in an adaptation of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, directed by Hira Tekindor, performing alongside Zerrin Tekindor, Tardu Flordun, and Şükrü Özyıldız. She also performed in the digital theater production Dijital Sahne: Bir Bebek Evi, which was published on YouTube.
